Speed dating

Short introductions. A fresh conversation each time.

What is speed dating?

Speed dating is a hosted event built around a series of short, one-to-one introductions. Instead of deciding who to approach in a room, you follow the organizer’s rotation and meet different people in turn. The conversation length, seating and matching process depend on the event.

What to expect

Read the listing for check-in time, age range and how rotations work. Arriving before the first round gives you time to settle in. Some organizers collect preferences after the conversations; others explain a different way to connect. Check the specific process before you book.

Make the conversation your own

Start with something easy: a favorite local place, a recent trip or what brought you to the event. A short conversation is an introduction, not an interview. Share only the contact information you feel comfortable sharing, and leave room for the other person to speak.

Find a group near you

Explore local groups by city and age range, then join the ones that interest you. Private groups show events after you join. Public groups let you browse first; you will need to join before RSVPing, joining an available waitlist or buying a ticket.

For a paid event, joining the group comes first; a ticket is only yours after checkout is complete. Joining does not charge you for a ticket, and you stay in the group if you leave checkout.

This is a format guide, not a scheduled event. Dates, prices and availability come from the individual listings. Search results show events you can access; private-group events require membership.

Common questions

Do I need to bring a date or a friend?

You can attend on your own. If you bring a friend, each person should follow the organizer’s registration and ticket rules.

Will I be guaranteed a match?

No. Meeting people does not guarantee mutual interest. Check the listing for what the organizer includes; do not assume every event uses the same matching system.

Before booking, review the listing and safety tips. Use Contact organizer on the organizer or group page if you need clarification.
